Day 174: Intense beginning

Today was all work. Some play. Almost no rest. It started with fieldwork intensive training, which was pretty fun. I did some cleaning of lawnmowers (which I can proudly say I have officially interacted with for the first time today), and then I was sent to update my specialist's address book to add all the volunteer's contact information to his database. I had an hour break, which I used to have a quick Skype chat with my parents. It sucks that the closer we get to the conference, the harder it is to stay in solid communication with loved ones back home. After my break, I went right back into work, packing up "street swags" (basically sleeping bags/backpacks and visiting the Towers to finish off. Our time in the Towers was awesome; I love seeing the beloved people of this place. Some people are saying hi to me by name now. By NAME. God is so good! I would have loved a break somewhere after that, but alas I couldn't because I had to help the Powerhouse crew set up. It was quite a bit of work, but it was fun too. Powerhouse in it's entirety was awesome, actually. I just loving serving; it's such an energy booster, despite it being exhausting. God was just very protective of me today; it gave me a sense of confidence in myself, as well as a peace of heart. I feel so tired, but seeing why I'm tired makes that okay with me.

God bless,
Steven

P.S. as for my hours of service, today I served around 7 out of the 30 I'm supposed to have by the end of next week. Oh yeah!
